What We Believe

Immanuel Lutheran Church • Avilla, Indiana

Immanuel Lutheran Church is a confessional Lutheran congregation of the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) . Our beliefs are grounded in the Holy Scriptures and the Lutheran Confessions.

🌍 Our Mission

At Immanuel, we are called to proclaim the Gospel, serve others, and live out our faith with love and humility. We strive to be a Christ-centered community where God's Word shapes every aspect of life.

📖 Scripture Alone

The Bible is the inspired and inerrant Word of God. It is the final authority for what we believe and how we live as Christians.

🙏 Faith Alone

Through faith alone we receive God's gifts of forgiveness and eternal life. Faith is not our doing, but is given by the Holy Spirit through the hearing of God's Word and the Sacraments.

✝️ Grace Alone

We are saved purely by the grace of God—not by our efforts or merits. God's grace is His free, undeserved love shown to us through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

👑 Christ Alone

Jesus Christ is the one and only Savior. He is fully God and fully man, who died for our sins and rose from the dead. He is the only way to forgiveness, peace, and eternal life.

🕊️ The Sacraments

God delivers His grace through the Sacraments. In Baptism, He adopts us into His family. In Holy Communion, Christ gives His body and blood for the forgiveness of sins and strengthening of faith.
